Obituary for Mary S. Clauser
Mary S. Clauser, 98 a former longtime resident of Catasauqua passed away on June 2, 2006 at her residence in Northampton Village Assisted Living in Northampton. Born in Cementon on October 3, 1907 to Julia (Ilkowicz) and Joseph Shedlar, she was the wife of the late Lee R. Clauser, who passed away in 1997. In October of 2003, Mary was honored as the oldest living female resident of Catasauqua in the Catasauqua Sesquecentennial Celebration Dinner and Parade. Mary was employed by the former Wahneta Silk Mills and Cands Fabric. She was a longtime member of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church of Whitehall. Mary loved reading, crossword puzzles, TV, crocheting and bridge club. She loved people and most of all her family. Mary is survived by a son Charles L. and his wife Nannette of York, PA; a daughter Patricia Sweeney Brosky and her husband Ronald of Catasauqua; five grandchildren – Michael and Jeffrey Sweeney, Mark and Grant Clauser and Susan Greifer; and five great-grandchildren – Jennifer Sweeney, Danica and Natalie Clauser and Raina and Sten Greifer. Services will be held 11am Tuesday June 6th, 2006 at the John H. Brubaker Funeral Home, 234 Walnut St. Catasauqua, 18032. Call from 10-11am at the funeral home. Contributions may be made in her name to St. Stephan’s Episcopal Church, 3900 Mechanicsville Road, Whitehall, 18052 or to the charity of your choice.
