Obituary for Dorothy J. Cook
Dorothy J. Cook, 96, of Allentown, died Sunday, February 28, 2010 at Phoebe Home in Allentown. She was the wife of the late Robert S. Cook. Born in Jerseytown, PA, she was a daughter of the late Paul H. and Martha (Kreamer) Johnson. Dorothy was a graduate of Bloomsburg High School and Bloomsburg State Teacher’s College. She also attended classes at Lehigh University. She was a member of the American Association of University Women and the Philanthropic Educational Organization (“PEO”). Dorothy was a 1st grade teacher in the Allentown School District at the Midway Manor and Hiram Dodd Schools for over 30 years before retiring. She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church in Allentown. Surviving is her daughter Linda Cook Luskus of Allentown, and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 2 sisters and one brother. Funeral services will be held at 11:30am, Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at Asbury United Methodist Church, 1533 Springhouse Road, Allentown, 18104. Call from 10:30-11:30am at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her name to the church.
