Obituary for Bernice M. Kulp
Bernice M. Kulp, 75, died Monday June 30, 2014 at her home in Bethlehem.
She was the wife of Willard W. Kulp of Bethlehem and would have celebrated 55 years of marriage together August of 2014. Born in Allentown she was a daughter of the late Homer and Pauline (Biery) Miller.
Bernice was a member of Christ U.C.C. in Schoenersville, where she was a
member of the church choir for many years. She was a 1957 graduate of
Allentown High School. She worked for many years as the Supervisor of the
Bethlehem Office of the State Revenue Department. Bernice was an active and dedicated member of the Lion's Club, serving as District Governor of Lion's District 14-K from 2006-2007 and 2009-2010. She was also the past President of both the Allen-East Allen Lion's Club and the Hanover Twsp. Lion's Club of which she was a member, having served Lion's International for 26 years. Bernice was a past Worthy Matron of Rose Croix and the former Jessie K. Berlin Chapter 492 Order of Eastern Star. Bernice received numerous awards from the Lion's Club including the Presidential Medal from Lion's International which is the 2nd highest honor to receive. She also received the Joseph Wroblewski Fellow as well as a 2 Diamond Melvin Jones Fellow. Bernice chaired the construction of a Habitat for Humanity House in South Bethlehem. She also served as Council President for Christ UCC. She was a Girl Scout Leader as well as the area Chairman for Girl Scouts of America.
Surviving along with her husband Willard are her daughters Sharon Hartmann and husband Perry of Milford, Donna Erney and husband Edward of Bethlehem, son Daryl Kulp and his companion Debbie Hower of Bethlehem; the love of her life; her grandchildren Tyler Erney, Joshua Erney, Zachary Erney, Garrett Hartmann and Sierra Hartmann. Bernice is also survived by her sisters Beverly Thomas and husband William of Breinigsville and Barbara Michael and husband Gary of Danielsville.
Funeral services will be held at 11am Saturday July 5th, 2014 at Christ
U.C.C. 5050 Airport Road (Schoenersville), Allentown. Her viewing will be from 9:30-11am Saturday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made in her name payable to Habitat for Humanity or Christ U.C.C. Church Memorial Fund or the Lion's Charitable Enterprises care of Brubaker Funeral Home, Inc., 234 Walnut St. Catasauqua, 18032.
